3 Month Appointment

Weight 291

Yesterday was my 3 Month Check up with my Surgeon!!! He informed me I have already lost 30% of my weight. I have concluded that 64 lbs is the size of an 8 year old. I have lost a whole 8 year old from my body in 3 months, its AMAZING!

Of course they had to take my picture, still no fun maybe in 6 months when I'm even smaller. I also have to go into my General Practitioner's office & get some blood tests. Cross your fingers that I pass!!! I am going in today after work, so I should know this week.

We discussed my hairloss - ahhhhhh Im 29 can't start losing my hair yet! They suggested taking Biotin Pills, not sure if they will work but I'm up for it. Of course they also told me to eat MORE protein, like I can fin anymore protein if I tried! So starting today I am keeping a food journal for myself to see how much protein I am actually getting in!

So far today...

TGIFF - Thank God it's Food Friday :(

Weight 316.7

Breakfast
Click Protein Shake

Lunch
Chicken Pieces
O NOOOOOO a small piece of Brownie!!! I couldn't help it. It's so easy to be good in a controlled environment like home. I go to work & everything goes out the window. I know that sometimes it's ok to have a treat, but I feel so guilty when I do. I'm afraid of the slippery slope of trigger foods. (like brownies)
A cheese stick

Dinner

Day Three

Life is good!

& then that crazy quack wants me to eat food! WTF!!! I think not!

Scrambled Eggs it is...
Bite 1 - ok not bad
Bite 2 - uggg food is for the birds
Bite 3 - Vomit? Yes please. It would have been nice, but instead I felt like shit for a good hour.

After I survived my eggs I was released to go HOME at about 1:00!!!

My mom picked me up & we stopped at her house to pick up my babies (the damn dogs)
Car rides are not fun...
I thought my mom would stay with me, she took the day off for me. After I was in the house, had my water & was settled, she was left. :(

Slept most of the day anyways I guess

Day Two

Weight 344                  7/29/10

Pain & Nausea not near as bad as the day before!!!

Mostly spent the day attempting sleep when my roommate felt the need to be respectfully quiet. I also was alowed some clear liquids!
The popsicle was a no go
Grape juice a few hours later was much easier, took several hours to finish.
Tried lemon ice, got a few sips in

Night Two

Roommate up all night so I was up all night. Did lots of walking ALL NIGHT LONG! I was ready to blow that pop stand.

Day of Surgery

Weight 342                    NO FOOD!             7/28/10

5:30AM
Got up to get ready after attempting sleep for about an hour. May as well get up & get ready sleep isnt going to happen.

8:00AM
My dad picked me up, after we used wire cutters to remove my last earring.

8:30
Checked in at felt like I was going to throw up, might aswell get used to that feeling!

9:00
Taken to preop SCARY! I was supposed to go into surgery at 10:30 but that didnt so much happen. After sitting there for an hour alone in a hospital gown they finally let my dad come back. It was strange having my dad be the one there after so many years of his lack of understanding. He doesnt get my decision or me, but was more supportive than I could have ever imagined from him.

11:00
My Aunt Sue & Grandma showed to be supportive. Very Sweet!

12:00
My Aunt Barbie came, suprised on that one... I was doing really well emotionally & then she made me cry like a baby. So exactly when I start bawling they decide to take me into surgery. I didnt think I would remember much but I definatly did.I felt like I was going to panic when they started strapping down my arms. Thank you anti-anxiety shot!!! She put the mask on me & I was a gonner. The worst part was waking up. I very vividly remember this because I couldnt breath. I was gasping for breath and it felt like the wind had been knocked out of me. After gasping for breath the mask was put back on adn the nurse repeated over and over "breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth". Easy for her to say she could breath. When I was done freaking out and could begin to breath it felt like an elephant was standing on my chest. After a few extra hours in post op I was wheeled to my room. FYI elevator not so fun. It felt like an extreme roller coaster, exasgeration I know but thats what it was like at the time.

Once in my room things were kind of fuzzy for a little bit. It basically consisted of pain, nausea, & dry heaving.

10PM
Anesthesia finally starts wearing off. My first big adventure was the trip to the bathroom. Having fluids pumped into you all day does not help at all. After getting up I felt a lot better than expected and walked 3 laps around my floor with Tim my cute cpa (whatever that stands for) This did require some more pain meds STAT!
